Having become deafened during the course of my university degree and after spending a number of years building a career in account management, throughout which time my deafness progressed from mild to profound, I decided to pursue a career which used my professional skills and knowledge of issues faced by deaf people in everyday life to remove barriers for individuals by promotion and education of Deaf awareness.
In addition to specializing in issues concerning the various types of deafness and the effects of hearing loss I have worked extensively with:
-
people with various disabilities advising on all aspects of the transition from education into employment
-
employers providing services including provision of strategy and consultancy services relating to advertisement and promotion as disability inclusive employers, attraction of applications from disabled candidates, reasonable adjustment advice and information, and delivery of Disability Awareness Training
